Local 71 was granted it’s International Charter in 1903. Since that time, our craftsmen have been part of Buffalo’s rich Architectural heritage. Through the years Sheet Metal Workers have had their craftsmanship displayed on many of the historic buildings and churches which are still visible today. The Erie County Courthouse, Saint Joseph’s Cathedral and the Butler Mansion are just a few examples of our craftsmen’s past accomplishments.

We still perform specialty exterior Sheet Metal work, changes in the industry have allowed us to expand into other areas of construction. Currently, we represent over 500 craftsmen who are employed in the various aspects of the trade. By forming a partnership with over 30 different contractors, we have been able to set the standard of quality throughout all phases of the Sheet Metal Industry.

Recently, this partnership has been successful in completing several of the major projects in Western New York. The Buffalo Airport, Roswell Park, HSBC Arena, Ralph Wilson Stadium and the new Courthouse are just some of the projects that Sheet Metal Workers have demonstrated their skills and craftsmanship.
